Fabriano’s UNESCO Conference discussed at United Nations
We’re close to the final countdown for the XIII Annual Conference of UNESCO Creative Cities, that will take place in Fabriano from June 10-15, bringing together delegates from 180 cities worldwide, including Beijing, Mexico City, Singapore, Montreal and Toronto, Detroit, Istanbul, Santos, Kinshasa, to discuss relationship between culture, creativity, innovation, sustainability.
The UNESCO Conference in Fabriano is also bringing greater and greater international attention. last May 21, during the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development and of the World Year of Indigenous Languages, the United Nations Headquarter in New York hosted a high-profile event on the relationship between culture and sustainable development.
The initiative was attended also by Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garcès, President of the UN General Assembly, and Ernesto Ottone R., UNESCO Assistant General Director for Culture: Fabriano’s conference was presented by the italian Ambassador to the United Nations as one of the key events launched by our country on the relationship between culture and sustainability.
The event included dialogues, roundtables and workshop on subjects such as cultural diversity, sustainability education, culture as a tool for innovation and struggle against inequality, that will be at the foreground of Fabriano’s event
